    Ghidate de dorinţa de a dezvolta şi consolida relaţiile de prietenie şi cooperare reciprocă între cele două ţări în conformitate cu scopurile şi principiile Cartei Naţiunilor Unite şi prevederile Convenţiei de la Viena cu privire la relaţiile diplomatice din 1961,
    Republica Moldova si Jamaica au convenit stabilirea relaţiilor diplomatice la nivel de ambasadori începând cu data de 9 iulie 1996.
    Semnat la New York, la data de 9 iulie 1996, în două exemplare autentice în limbile engleză şi română, textele având valoare identică.

    Therefore, we request, Your Excellency, to distribute to all the States Members of the United Nations the enclosed Communique that we have signed on behalf of our Governments.
