    Republica Moldova şi Republica Democratică Populară Laos,
    călăuzindu-se de dorinţa mutuală de a dezvolta relaţiile de prietenie şi colaborare în domeniile politic, economic, cultural, umanitar şi alte domenii,
    intenţionând să dezvolte aceste relaţii în baza normelor Cartei ONU şi a principiilor dreptului internaţional,
    au convenit stabilirea relaţiilor diplomatice la nivel de misiuni diplomatice în conformitate cu Convenţia de la Viena din 1961 privind relaţiile diplomatice, începând cu data semnării prezentului Protocol.
    Republica Moldova şi Republica Democratică Populară Laos au ferma convingere, că stabilirea relaţiilor diplomatice corespunde intereselor naţionale ale ambelor state şi va contribui la consolidarea cooperării şi păcii în întreaga lume.
    Semnat în oraşul  Beijing,  la data de 29 mai 1997, în trei exemplare autentice, în limbile moldovenească, lao şi engleză.

    The Republic of Moldova and the Lao People's Democratic Republic,
    guided by the mutual willingness to develop relations of freindship and cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields,
    having the intention of developing these relations on the basis of the purposes and norms of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law,
    have agreed to establish diplomatic relations at diplomatic mission level with effect of the date of signature of this Protocol, based on the Viena Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
    The Republic of Moldova and the Lao People's Democratic Republic are convinced that the establishment of diplomatic relations corresponds to the naţional interests of both States, and will contribute to the consolidation of cooperation and peace in the world.
    Done in the city of Beijing on May 29,  1997 in three equally authentic texts in the Moldovan, Lao and English languages.
